Updates in Payatas
Our tutorial and sports sessions have now continued for another week. Attendance has been really high and we are already anticipating to welcome new scholars to join the our Youth Center in the coming weeks.
Some exciting news to share, the final phase of the rooftop construction in the Payatas Sports Center is now underway. In the last quarter of 2019, major construction work to our three main facilities; in education, sports, and social business came into full effect. The construction of the Sports Center was halted due to the Metro Manila lockdown in March. Upon resumption, the renovation is expected to be completed by September and will allow us to host events such as leagues, tournaments, and open sessions once the lockdown clears. The goal is for our Sports Center to be a self-sustaining events venue.
Another piece of good news is that we have given out Level 2 Coaching certificates to two of our youth coaches. They received their certificates from passing the course before the lockdown. We are hoping the entire batch could finish the tests, but not yet possible at this time.
The Payatas Paper
A new issue of The Payatas Paper is out too! Our scholars go back to their roots of being a Filipino and discuss Filipino values and their hopes of bringing pride to the country. Read the full issue here.
